Medusa Run To Waste 48 System – 25mm pipe
The Medusa System allows multiple Air-Pot containers to be watered by hand or with a drip irrigation system. The water/nutrient can be re-circulated or run to waste depending on the chosen growing method. The Baseline run off system has been designed to to fit any configuration, whether being used is a small grow tent large facility the Baseline system can be set up to work in any space.Â
This Medusa Run To Waste 48 System Contains
- 48 x Baseline trays (different options available)
- 1 x Medusa Brain (different options available)
- All standard IWS 25mm fittings (tees, straights, sealing glands).
- 25mm Black flexi pipe
How does Medusa Run To Waste 48 System work?
The Baseline trays are connected together using flexible pipe and popular hydro fittings and then to a brain/ pump housing (optional), the plants are placed on top of the trays and fed using any feeding method. Once the run off leaves the pot it is directed to the centre of the tray and then out through the pipe fittings. The ideal amount of run off is between 10-20% as this gives the plants everything that they require while washing away any salts.
This simple but very effective system can be made to fit any size garden and provides a convenient way to manage your irrigation programme regardless of your chosen growing medium or irrigation method.
- Use with a wide range of growing media
- System can run to waste or re-circulate
- Use with drippers or hand water
- Removes all waste water from growing trays
- System layout is flexible
- Air-Pot containers can be repositioned during the cycle
- Easily extend size of system
- Use with 10lt, 15ltr or 20ltr Air-Pot containers.
- Air-Pot containers available separately
The Trays
The Baseline trays and systems have been designed for strength, durability and flexibility to suit as many growing styles as possible.
We have three sizes of tray with each size having a booster option which helps compensate for uneven floors and can increase the flow rate of the run off where needed.
- Small Baseline Tray fits pots up to 24cm diameter or 24cm square.
- Medium Baseline Tray fits pots up to 30cm diameter or 30 cm square
- Large Baseline Tray fits pots up to 40cm diameter or 40cm square

The Brains
The pump housing or ‘Brain’ is the component that removes the run off using a pump that is activated when the water level reaches a set point.
We have two version of the run off removal brain, the Standard uses a 2000lph pump (perfect for smaller set ups and/ or slow draining media such as coco) and the Fastline uses a 5000lph pump (ideal for larger set ups and/ or fast draining media such as clay pebbles).
Both version of the brain are made from high impact material with all connection points being on flat surfaces for a solid, leak free fit.
Diagrams of various feeding methods
Hand feed run to waste using gravity.
No brain is required but the plants and trays will need to be raised above ground level to allow the run off to be removed.
Hand feed run to waste using a brain
This option is used when the run off needs to be pumped to a bucket or catchment tank to be disposed of later.
Recirculating system using drip irrigation
There are many benefits to using a drip irrigation system and the Baseline trays and brains are ideally suited to this technique
