Rhino are known to be one of the best in the hydroponics industry for air filters. This range is made with carbon as premium as the Rhino Pro range, yet have a shorter lifespan. The carbon used to build these filters (Australian RC412) are known to be the best carbon in the world! This range of filters provides the hobby grower with an easy to use filter system. The Hobby provides adequate filtration throughout the filter and with the cone at the bottom of the filter it guarantees even air flow around the carbon bed.Â
How it works:
These carbon filters are made from a aluminium cylinder which contains a granular form are carbon that is made through an intense specialised manufacturing process. Each grain covers big surface areas. When carbon is activated it will clean and deodour air passing through it. The way this works is through stale air drawing through the carbon filter through an extractor fan (not included). The air will then go through the outside of the drum ensuring that dust and other materials do not get trapped in the main filter part. Finally the air will then flow through the activated carbon which will absorb and remove odours giving you clean air.
Benefits of using Rhino Hobby Filter:
- Small cost.
- Duct coupling end is reversible.
- 9 to 12 month life expectancy (aslong as guidlines are followed).Â
- Will remove odours and particles.
- Made with one of the best carbons in the world.
- Lightweight due to its aluminium housing.
- Different sizes available.
Rhino Hobby Filter vs Rhino Pro Filter
Rhino Hobby Filter is a lighter version of the pro with the main difference being the lasting life span. The Rhino Hobby Filter will last between 9 to 12 months whereas the Rhino Pro Filter will last on average 18 to 24 months.Â
The Rhino Hobby Filter duct coupler and base must be removed and fitted to the opposite end every 8 to 12 weeks to ensure the life span is fully effective. Whereas the Rhino Pro Filter you will not need to do this.
Rhino Pro Filter will cost more than the Rhino Hobby Filter range, but this is because the quality, lifespan, and general effectiveness is considerably better.
